London, Hyde Park. 80,000 spectators and a 6 metre high ramp...
the challenge
To make a home-made flying machine and break the Flugtag world record flight of 65 metres. Obviously we were taking this seriously which is why we designed a machine with the aerodynamic properties of a fridge freezer. Boeing and Airbus have nothing to fear from us, although our in-flight entertainment is much better.
the flying machine
Behold the Banana Splitfire...a creation of wood, polystyrene, custard, a dollop of cream, a sprinkling of hundreds and thousands and some rather large bananas.
