The news from day seven...

The morning dawns (or rather it doesn't as it no longer gets dark at this latitude) cold and grey - there was no partying last night, the place was overrun with mosquitos and the 13 hour drive the day before had taken it's toll. Nevertheless everyone awoke the next day full of beans - today we would cross the Arctic Circle!!

  • Thunderbird 4 warms the morning gloom with a rocket test

*

  • Bad news reaches us from the Delorean - they continue to have problems and were last believed to have had a flux capacitor overload which transported them back to Sweden but unfortunately in the year 1967 (which would at least make their car cool)...
  • The Lady Penelope's FAB1 has an unexpected strop and overheats in a mountain pass...in usual style the girls ignore the steam coming from under the bonnet believing them to be passing clouds and simply wait until the car stops moving before deciding all is not well...
  • Starsky and Hutch lose the boot again after a dust up with a pothole...more tragically they mourned the loss of two Bombay Bad Boy Pot Noodles which went overboard and were crushed by the A-Team...

The teams continue to push on, slow 2nd and 3rd gear hills now starting to strain the engines...

*

At last...the sign we've all been waiting for!

*

A quick celebration...

*

A bit of posing...

*

Followed by a snowball fight...

*

The teams then headed further north past Narvik when eventually the weather broke and we enjoyed a night's camping by a spectacular fjord with the sun hovering just above the horizon...

*

Some world class partying was done that night with Jim refusing to go to bed and taking Oz along for the ride...the results were very messy indeed as the morning would tell...

Next stop Tromso...the northernmost university town in the world...

It's not the taking part, it's the breaking down that counts!
