The news from day two...
Day two saw the teams aiming to reach Hamburg...it proved to be another
catastrophic day for the cars and was not boding well for the rest
of the trip since we we still on easy motorways... Because of the
huge number of car problems we decided to push on as far as we could...in
contrast to the Dutch the Germans were a little more reserved in their
re-actions, there was some horn-tooting but this tended to be more
of the "get out of my way you tossers" variety...
More breakdowns!!!

- Thunderbird 4 continues to suffer from overheating problems when
exceeding the sound barrier (which in these noisy little buggers is
55mph)...

- The Lady Penelope's car ground to a shuddering halt. An inspection
reveals absolutely no oil in the engine and the plug leads hanging
off. Fortunately the diagnosis was swift thanks to Jenny's accurate
description of the problem..."the car is going zzzrrr...pop...fzzzzz"...
- The Dukes of Hazzard discover they can no longer change gear...late
night roadside surgery reveals the clutch has gone awol...

After being shown the art of how to change gear without a clutch by
Matt and Dave the Duke Boys decide to continue on - all is well on the
motorways but mid-town traffic proves a different story with near death
experiences by the bucket-load. After a tortuous day the teams finally
roll and bump in to the German port of Keil in the early hours.
Is this the end of the road for the Dukes of Hazzard..?
