The news from day eleven...Today we would head for Helsinki where Sari would be able to show us around all of her old haunts...as the drive was a short one we took the opportunity to organise the Off Road Reliant Rally of Finland on a dirt track...this was a bad idea as ex-stock car racer "One Lap Matt" in Thunderbird 4 suddenly took it upon himself to stuff everyone else in the ditch...many wing mirrors, indicator lenses and rocket boosters were lost in the ensuing carnage...
After a quick scout around we head for our campsite ready to pitch up and go for a night on the town...when we reach the campsite the Lady Penelope's engine can be heard rattling from 500 paces...Matt and Dave are summoned...Dave turns a pale grey and Matt is heard to utter the words "clucking hell", or something like that - Sarah and Jenny smile sweetly and maintain that "Gay Cedric" was perfectly ok and just sounded "a little rough"...
Within 10 minutes Matt and Dave are ripping the engine apart...and sure enough Gay Cedric had buggered an exhaust valve spring...repairs would have to wait until morning...there was alcohol and a night out to be had...
After this the evening became something of a bluuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......... |
