The news from day ten...

Day ten turned out to be one of the longest slogs of the trip, driving down through Finland...we saw some trees, and some more trees, and then a bit further on some trees...there are a lot of trees in Finland. The monotony was broken every now and then by randomly crashing in to each other at any given opportunity. Surprised none of us hit a tree actually.

The campsite proved to be a godsend - after a long day in the seat what better way to wind down than to take a sauna Finnish style...

• Step 1 - pour buckets loads of water on until you can just about breathe
• Step 2 - wait until the sweat fills up your empty Stella bottle
• Step 3 - get someone to thrash you with some birch leaves (?!)
• Step 4 - run outside and throw yourself in to an ice cold lake...go to Step 1...

The teams would retreat to camp that night refreshed and relaxed...if they hadn't stayed up until 5.00am drinking Finnish schnapps...awful bloody stuff...
