• What are the dates?

March 13th - March 31st 2011. This is the date of the launch party in Tunis so you will need to get yourself there by that date. If travelling from the UK you will obviously need to allow a few days to get there.

• How many people in each team?

Up to you really. If you are coming in a double decker then you can cram them in. Probably best to trim back the numbers though if you intend to come on a scooter.

• What if we crash, breakdown or get lost?

You mean what do we do WHEN we crash, breakdown and get lost all at the same time? Well there is no official support so technically you are on your own but on such trips people always club together. It's a good idea to travel in groups for obvious reasons.

• Where do we stay?

Under the stars. In a bedouin tent. Inside a camel carcass. Again it's all pretty fluid. Apart from the opening and closing parties there is no itinerary.

• How much will it cost?

As is usual with these types of event the biggest expenses are your vehicle, fuel and flying home again. Day to day expenses are relatively small. And there is a registration fee.

Extreme Trifle does not set the prices or have any involvement in the organisation of the rally itself The rally is organised by The Travel Scientists. We can vouch for the fun we've had on other trips they have organised such as the Rickshaw Rampage and Caucasian Invasion.

• Is it dangerous?

Well let's just say this route covers a "Who's Who" of Foreign Office Travel Advisory's. No one will be going out of their way to get in to trouble but you should be aware that the route covers some potentially hazardous areas.
