2008 - the must have guide to the must do things you must do...

It's taken several board meetings in the pub to come up with the 2008 line up, but thanks to the enlightening powers of Stella Artois and Dry Blackthorn we've conjured up some splendid daftwittery for you...

Piste & Broke     PISTE & BROKE (February 8th - February 16th)

Remember the episode of Top Gear when they went to the "North Pole?" (Well, it was the North Pole if you still believe in Santa Claus). If they can miss by 800 miles in a factory-prepared Toyota Hilux then we can miss by even more in an XR3i Cabriolet...

All hail the frosted delights of our new adventure "Piste & Broke". 700 miles of offroading on snow, frozen rivers and a rather cool ice bridge to Kihnu Island in the middle of the Baltic Sea. 4x4's are banned as are anything else likely to make it. Entries so far include an Austin Allegro, Ford Capri and Morris Marina. If you think you can do worse sign up now...and pack your snowboard...Latvia has an awesome snowpark where you can do yourself damage under floodlights until 2am...

YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT.

Disoriented Express     THE DISORIENTED EXPRESS (Summer 2008)

Ok there are a few logistical problems to sort out before Thomas the Spank Engine departs, not least trying to get the insurance premium down to under £10,000. For some reason our insurers think 54 pissed people aboard an 80ft long seaside train is high risk...   Anyway, thanks to the new turbo engine Thomas can go up hills so of course we'll have to go through the Alps on our mission to get totally steamed in the beer capitals of Europe...   Can I get a "Choo Choo!" -

NEXT STOP PLEASE!

24 Hrs of LeMons   THE 24hrs of LeMons (Summer 2008)

You all know the world famous LeMans 24 hour race, right? Think exotic supercars. Now take away the exotic and the super, and voila - you have the 24hrs of LeMons. The endurance race for the most unloved, useless piles of toss ever to fail an MOT.   Thanks to the Governor of California being The Terminator it's all happening over there. That way if anyone complains about the noise he can waste them with his photo torpedo hand cannon...YES PLEASE

Monsoon Madness   MONSOON MADNESS (August 3rd - August 15th 2008)

If you missed it this year then here is your chance to experience the monsoon rains in a vehicle with a hand-operated windscreen wiper and no sides... It's the adventure with everything... mosquito bites, food poisoning, suicidal driving and hotels with live wiring above the shower head...in short, it's perfect. If you still need convincing check the video from this year's event... http://www.extremetrifle.com/3/monsoonmadness_index.php

OK SO NOW YOU WANT TO DO IT!

MONSOON MADNESS 2007 - CHARITY UPDATE

A massive thank you to everyone who donated towards the "Adopt A Village" scheme. It was a great success and very rewarding to visit the schools along the route. The scheme enabled us to help schools in over 30 villages and exceeded expectations such that the scheme has now been extended.

  Climate Care  WE'VE GONE GREEN!

No we don't mean we've all started wearing sandals and sharing our bathwater...   We've teamed up with ClimateCare to allow future events to be "carbon offset". As far we can tell this means we don't have to feel guilty about belching clouds of oil smoke into the atmosphere or dumping vehicles in wildlife sanctuaries because these whizzy carbon offset things mean that for every naughty thing we do someone somewhere hugs a tree and endangered polar bears have a massive illegal rave...   Last time we calculated our emissions we needed to replant the Amazon basin 7 times over but even the 1,000 mile journey requires the first step as some old bloke with wispy hair once said...

AND remember, it's the taking part, it's the breaking down that counts.
